Carl Pombar is a seasoned Business, Strategy and Financial professional, Entrepreneur, Investor, Consultant, Advisor and Professor with an NYU-Stern MBA and formal big bank credit training program certification. With 25+ years experience spent at large financial institutions, mid sized corporations as well as early stage companies, he understands the important balance in leadership required to build and grow startups as well as leverage the strengths of established companies. 

 

Carl is known for creating, building and leading high growth teams. He efficiently designs and executes strategic, financial and operational plans and leads companies to become higher-performing organizations.  His specialties include Startup Consulting in the following areas: General Business/Management; Ideation; Financial/Fundraising; Building professional Business Plans, Financial Models and Investor Pitch Decks; Technical Resources; Design and Development, Strategy Consulting; Operations, Manufacturing, and Regulatory Consulting. 

 

​Carl has recently been involved with a number of startup clients, inc. as CFO/COO a medical device startup, ex-CEO of another medical device company, ex-interim CFO to a NYC-based technology startup, Co-Founder of a digital media company, Founder of a consumer product company, Investor/Advisor to an early-stage consumer products company and Consultant/Advisor to an early stage high-tech company, etc.

 

In addition, Carl has extensive prior experience in: M&A, Corporate Strategy/Reorganizations, Corporate Finance, Business Development, Operations Improvement, Fundraising, Talent Acquisition, Complex Financial Modeling, Due Diligence and Deal Execution.  Carl has a deep and diversified career in Finance (investment and corporate banking, research, trading, risk management), Business/Management (as head of M&A/Business Development for two separate mid-market sized companies) and Startup Companies (ex-CEO and CFO of three startups and involved as a Founder, Advisor and/or Consultant with a number of other early stage companies). Carl also served as an Adjunct Professor of Business at a college in NYC.

Outside of his startup responsibilities, Carl runs the NYC Marathon every year, is involved with various charitable works and enjoys spending time with his family in the suburbs of NYC.
